Life Saving
Drownings Are the Second Leading Cause of Accidental Death in Costa Rica!
At VAMOS Youth, we believe the key to reducing drowning rates is by educating the next generation to be ocean-aware. Since 2016, we have been offering top-tier lifesaving programs, including the Tamarindo Junior Lifeguard Program, designed to create the ambassadors of tomorrow. Our mission is to reduce drowning numbers and, ultimately, offer these unique camps to as many children as possible. Led by professional lifeguards from around the world, our programs provide a passionate and expert-driven approach to lifesaving education.
Our Junior Lifesaving Programs focus on making learning fun, so children not only develop critical water safety skills but also fall in love with the experience. By fostering a positive, engaging environment, we inspire kids to continue their lifesaving journey and, eventually, pursue becoming lifeguards themselves. We also fundraise to donate and invite kids from the local community to participate, giving them the chance to become ambassadors of water safety. These impactful camps take place during December, April, and July, helping young swimmers build confidence, master ocean safety skills, and develop leadership qualities to inspire others in their communities.
