Learning how to enjoy it safely — and knowing what to do when something goes wrong — is a skill for life.
The VAMOS Youth Lifesaving Academy gives young swimmers the opportunity to go beyond swimming, by developing water-safety awareness, rescue skills, first aid, teamwork, leadership and confidence.
And we make sure they have fun while doing it.

JUNIOR LIFESAVING
For young swimmers who want to go further.
8 to 15 years old
Our Junior Lifesaving programs are designed for swimmers who want to challenge themselves, learn practical lifesaving skills and develop a deeper understanding of the water. Participants learn through a combination of swimming, games, challenges and practical activities.
They develop skills such as:
- Ocean and beach safety
- Understanding aquatic hazards
- Rip-current awareness
- Rescue and reaching techniques
- First aid and CPR
- VAMOS Youth — Lifesaving Academy
- Emergency response
- Swimming and water skills
- Communication
- Teamwork Leadership
The goal isn't simply to teach children what to do in an emergency. It's to help them become aware, responsible and confident around the water.
FIRST AID TRAINING
First aid principles and the emergency treatment of injuries.
All ages
Water safety and lifesaving go hand in hand with knowing what to do when anemergency occurs.
VAMOS offers Emergency First Aid training covering practical skills including:
- Victim assessment
- CPR
- Choking
- External bleeding
- Heart attack
- Stroke
- Wounds and burns
The current Emergency First Aid course is an 8-hour programme and includes CPR-B certification.
LIFEGUARD SERVICES
Planning a private event beside a pool or beach?
Our professional lifeguard service provides dedicated water supervision so hosts and families can enjoy their event with greater peace of mind.
Available for suitable private events and aquatic settings.

WATER WISE YOUNG PEOPLE
VAMOS Youth believes water safety education should be accessible to everyone. That's why we work with local organisations and use fundraising and donations to help children from the local community participate in swimming and lifesaving programs.
The ambition is bigger than creating good swimmers.
It's about creating a generation of water-wise young people who can help make their communities safer.
